ZX means Zen eXtreme
Ninjago ZX is the third level, next level after Ninjago DX. They appeared in season two of Lego Ninjago. This time they were facing a new enemy of the Serpentine.The new headquarters for Ninjago ZX is a dragon-themed ship called the Destiny's Bounty (set 9446 in year 2012).
The features of this level of version are the ninjas have ZX robes printed on their torsos, their new hood style with built-in crown of gold or silver and they also wield rigged gold/silver shoulder pauldrons. The pauldrons have circular holder on the back that can be fitted with a maximum two katana swords.
Even their ninja teacher - Sensei Wu wears alternative white robes, featuring snake symbols to protect him from evil.
The 2012 of season 2 : Ninja vs Serpentine sets comes in green boxes instead season 1 : Ninja vs Skeletons that came in red boxes.
